What do you take — and what can't you take?
We take furniture, beds and mattresses, white goods and electricals, carpets, curtains, clothes, books, boxes, garden and shed contents, garage junk and general household waste. We can't take hazardous waste: asbestos, chemicals, paint and solvents, oils, fuel, gas cylinders or clinical waste. If you're unsure about an item, just ask.
Do I need to be there on the day?
No. Many customers in Kilkenny hand over keys or arrange access and we work from written instructions, sending photos when the job is done. If you'd rather be present to check items as they go, that's welcome too.
Do I need to sort or bag anything before you arrive?
No. We do the sorting, lifting, bagging and loading. If there are things you want to keep, put them in one room or mark them clearly — or just tell us on the day and we'll set them aside.
What happens to photographs, documents and valuables you find?
Anything that looks personal, sentimental or valuable — photos, letters, jewellery, cash, documents — is set aside and handed to you before it leaves the property. It's one of the first things we look for in a bereavement clearance.
How long does a house clearance take?
A single room or attic: two to four hours. A typical two- or three-bed house: one day. Large, hoarded or heavily furnished properties: a day and a half to two days. We'll tell you before we start.
Can you clear a house in Kilkenny at the weekend?
Yes. We work Monday to Saturday, and Sunday or early-morning starts can sometimes be arranged for landlords, agents and families travelling from abroad.
Are you insured?
Yes — we're fully insured for the work we do in your property, and it's our own trained crew and trucks on every job, not subcontractors.
Where does everything go afterwards?
Every load is sorted. Furniture and goods in good condition go for reuse or donation where possible; metals, wood, cardboard and electricals are separated for recycling; appliances are handled under WEEE rules; and the remainder goes to licensed waste facilities. We aim to send as little as possible to landfill.
